The first "Culture Congress" in Turkey has been
organized by İzmir Foundation for Culture, Arts
and Education between November 3-5 , 1997.
The participating authors, scientists and
journalists discussed "The Culture of Democracy
and Globalism" at the congress, the results of
which have been published as a book.
The topic of The Second Culture Congress which
took place on October 16-18, 2000 was
appropriately "Culture of Peace" in a year which
was was devoted to "Culture of Peace" by UNESCO.
Vasilis Vasilikos, Cengiz Aytmatov, Alfredo
Picasso and Diomonsi Bombote submitted
presentations at the congress, besides Turkish
Participants.
The results of the second congress which
attracted an unprecedented attendance were also
published as a book.
