DUO MINERVA

Genre boundaries are completely foreign to this duo. The Austrian clarinet-accordion Duo Minerva challenge traditions and create a new and exciting sound by blending classical music, world music, jazz and the avant-garde. The ensemble, comprising Johanna Gossner on clarinet and Damian Keller on accordion, have rearranged masterpieces with great finesse, and their presentation is witty, with a completely fresh interpretation. 

The duo won the 16th Fidelio Chamber Music Competition of the City of Vienna in 2017, and also benefited from a grant for young artists. Their success continued with awards from international competitions held in Europe and Asia. The duo have performed at international events such as the Allegro Vivo Festival, the Salzburg Festival, alpenarte and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. Since 2023, the duo has been part of the sponsorship program of the famous Club Klassik – Vienna Music Ensemble, which supports promising young artists living in Austria. They have also been performing their own arrangements of beloved songs at the Aya Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Church as part of the 53rd Istanbul Music Festival.
