Yalancinin Resmi (Picture of A Liar)
The play is a story of a meeting on a park bench. It depicts autumn and a first time meeting. On one side, a man who has lost his son and separated from his wife, on the other side, a woman who lost her husband four years ago, lost herself in the pages of books, and accustomed herself to loneliness…
The conversation which the strange man begins in the park is like a colourful spectrum extending from Nazım Hikmet to Pablo Picasso, Yuri Gagarin to Luciana Pavorotti, Albert Einstein to Orhan Veli.
After a while, the woman also gets caught up in the game the man weaves with his stories. They start playing this together and it is no longer certain which of the stories is true and which is a lie, as the story gets more and more complicated. I wonder, is this game they have made up and enjoyed together enough to save them from their lonely world?
