The ninth of "Dr. Nejat F. Eczacıbaşı National Composition Contest" (Concert Songs) organized by İzmir Foundation for Culture, Arts and Education (İKSEV) was held in 2016.

The first Evaluation Meeting of the ninth contest in which 30 works applied was held in İstanbul on March 07, 2015 Saturday.

Turgay Erdener, Mehmet Ergüven (didn’t participate because of excuses), Rengim Gökmen,  Mesut İktu, Hasan Uçarsu, Serdar Yalçın participated in the meeting as members of the Selective Board that was chaired by Gürer Aykal.

In accordance with the conditions and evaluation method indicated in the specification, the compositions of the composers named below went on to the finals to be vocalized at the "Contest Concert":

 

·       “Hiçlik” by Utar Artun (Lyrics: Nazan Nihal Artun)

·        “Te Po (Gece)” by Berkant Gençkal (Lyrics: Besteci)

·        “Anlatamıyorum” by İlayda Deniz Oğuz (Lyrics: Orhan Veli)

·        “Yeraltı Kraliçesinin Şarkısı” by İsmail Sezen (Lyrics: Şefik Kahramankaptan)

·        “Şarkı Söylerken Yaşarım” by Ivan Celac (Lyrics: Işık Kurt)

·        “Şeyh Bedrettin Destanı” by Murat Cem Orhan (Lyrics: Nazım Hikmet)

·        “Havada Bulut Yok” by Tamer Bektaş (Lyrics: Şahine Hatipoğlu)

·        “Oh Mensch; gib Acht!” by Egemen Kesikli (Lyrics: F. Nietzche)

·        “Mavi Gözlü Dev” by Melis Peykoğlu (Lyrics: Nazım Hikmet)

·        “Delirmişin Şarkısı” by Mehmet Özkan (Lyrics: Tevfik Fikret)

·       “Yakarış” by Oğuz Usman (Lyrics: Yunus Emre)

·        “Evren” by Deniz Kocaman (Lyrics: Ercan Yaren).

 

On Tuesday, June 07, 2016, works performed by the Izmir State Symphony Orchestra under the conductorship of Serdar Yalçın at the "Contest Concert" in scope of the “30^th International Izmir Festival” were presented to the audience, the orchestra and the selection committee, as a result of evaluation of points by participatory voting conducted under the supervision of notary,

 

·       The first prize was given to: “Şeyh Bedrettin Destanı” by Murat Cem Orhan (Lyrics: Nazım Hikmet) – Soloist: Doğukan Kuran, baritone

·       The second prize was given to: “Yeraltı Kraliçesinin Şarkısı” by İsmail Sezen (Lyrics: Şefik Kahramankaptan) – Soloist: Ayşe Şenoğul soprano

·       The third prize was given to: “Hiçlik” by Utar Artun (Lyrics: Nazan Nihal Artun) – Soloist: Ayşe Şenoğul soprano

·       The First Honorable Mention was given to: “Şarkı Söylerken Yaşarım” by Ivan Celac (Lyrics: Işık Kurt) 

Soloists: Ayşe Şenoğul soprano – Başak Karataş – H.Zeliha Kökçek mezzosoprano

·       The Second Honorable Mention was given to: “Te Po (Gece)” by Berkant Gençkal (Lyrics: Besteci)

Soloist: Başak Karataş mezzosoprano

·       The Third Honorable Mention was given to: “Yakarış” by Oğuz Usman (Lyrics: Yunus Emre)

Soloist: Başak Karataş mezzo soprano.
